One faith, many flavors

The Diocese of Charlotte announced the transfer, moving St. Helen from under the care of Our Lady of Consolation Parish in Charlotte, which has overseen the mission since 2000, effective July 1, 2026.

Parishioners gathered on March 14 for a Liturgy Workshop focused on entering more deeply into the Mass. The session highlighted the importance of reverence, interior participation and understanding the meaning behind each part of the liturgy.

The Perpetual Hope Gospel Choir recently visited Charlotte Catholic High School during a Black History Month program, offering students a powerful experience of worship and participation. The visit reflected the faith and spirit of the Our Lady of Consolation community.

Parishioners at Our Lady of Consolation Church broke into applause Sunday at the joyful news that the parish and the Diocese of Charlotte have established a special partnership to invest more than $6.7 million to renovate and expand their church on Statesville Avenue.

Bishop Martin to offer Mass tonight for new Holy Father Bishop Michael Martin, OFM Conv., invites everyone to a special Mass he is offering tonight for our new Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV. The Mass for Pope Leo XIV and the Universal Church will start at 7 p.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church, located at 8015 Ballantyne Commons Pkwy. in Charlotte. The Rosary Society will host Ms. Laretta Williams of Sisters of Mercy on April 26th from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Ms. Williams will share the origin, meaning, and how to pray the Rosary. All members are asked and encouraged to attend..

Dear Brothers and Sisters, on Sunday, March 30th, Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church will celebrate a Harambee Mass!

December 14th at 5:00 PM the Music Ministry's first Annual Christmas Concert. There is no cost but they are asking for donations and the purchase of ads to be placed in their program. All proceeds will be for the Capital Campaign. Hosted at Our Lady of Consolation, Parish Life Center.
